We're Launching One Million Financial Wellbeing Check-Ins

What are we doing?

At the Money Education Foundation we are committed to providing essential money management skills to our next generation of young adults.

We understand that effective financial education cannot simply be delivered in one training work shop, so we are launching the biggest project of its type in the world.

Any students can create an account and arrange a yearly financial check-in to ensure they are on track to set and track financial goals.

During the training session and the registering of the interactive game we enable the students to create an account and link their email and social media profile to this account.

We then send an annual check in so that they can set yearly goals regarding their financial wellbeing.

Why are we doing this?

The key to tackling financial well being is through education and setting realistic annual goals and providing regular check-ins to ensure that the students can check in to their account and check where they are financially in comparison to the goal they set for themselves 12months ago.

It is really important that the students are supported through the use of technology and AI tools we have developed to set realistic goals so that they can achieve these goals in small steps each year.

There are nearly ten million adults in the UK with no savings at all, and there are another twenty million adults who have less than £200 in savings. With the increased cost of living and higher energy prices and fuel, car insurance, etc this is extremely worrying and further proof that real action is needed to educate the next generation out of poverty.

There are also nearly half of all young adults who have poor financial literacy. This means that they cannot answer three very basic questions relating to managing their finances.

One question was if inflation was running at 2% per year and you placed £100 in a bank account returning 1% interest per year at the end of the year would you have A) more money B) less money than now?

Our work shops and financial health check ups are going to be life changing to the next generation.
